Chapter 20: The Maintain Menu

The Maintain Menu contains settings which globally affect the way your software functions. The section on Fax Info will only apply if you are using the add-on module, FaxTalker. Be sure to see Part III h: FaxTalker section for complete information on faxing.

a) Fax Info

The Fax Info command brings up the Global Fax Info window. These settings control the way your system delivers faxes. If you do not have a fax card you can ignore the settings in this window. The options available in the Global Fax Info window are described below.

Use Global Cover Page - Check this box if you wish to use the same cover page for each fax sent. The Browse button will bring up the standard Windows NT (tm) Open dialog box, which will allow you to locate a document to be used as a cover page. Remember that only files of the type you specify in the List Files of Type field will be displayed for you to select. For example, if you would like to add a.tif file, change the List Files of Type field to .tif and then move through the directories window to locate your .tif document. Acceptable formats for a cover page are:

Documents which are uploaded to your system remotely are saved in .tif format.

.txt All plain ASCII text files can be sent without any  conversion.

Max Fax Per Call - Check this option if you wish to limit the number of faxes a caller can request per call. Enter a maximum value in the field provided.

Max Fax Per Day - Check this option to limit the total number of faxes your system will send per day. Enter a maximum value in the field provided.

Max Number of Attempts - In this field enter the maximum number of times the system will attempt to deliver a requested fax.

Time Between Attempts (secs) - In this field enter the time, in seconds, the system will wait before attempting to re-send a fax.

Number of Rings to Answer - This field sets the number of rings the system will wait for a fax response when dialing a fax number.

Header Options - You may select the way you would like the date and time displayed in the fax header that appears at the top of every fax page sent from the system if the Use Header option is checked in a Fax Box.
