Chap. 20g: Maintain/Line Groups

Line Groups are used to inform the system which phone line(s) will be used for ANY AND ALL outbound dialing the program will perform. This includes the OutBound Box, message notification, paging, scheduled outbound calls (CalenDialer add-on module), PeopleChek (add-on module), and FaxTalker add-on module. The Line Groups command brings up the Line Groups window, which displays a list of all of the Line Groups currently defined in your system. From this window you can use the buttons to the right of the Line Groups display to Add or Delete Line Groups settings.

 

To modify a Line Groups setting, double-click on the setting you would like to modify. This will bring up the Individual Line Groups window, which allows you modify specific Line Groups parameters.

Line Group Name - Give each Line Group a name which will allow you to easily identify it anywhere the Line Groups option appears.

OutBound On - Select the lines that you wish to use for outbound dialing when using this particular Line Groups setting. Be sure that the lines you select are available for your use. For example, if you have 8 lines on your system you have lines 1 through 8 available for outbound dialing. If you have 4 lines on your system you have lines 1 through 4 available for outbound dialing. Often system operators designate the least-used incoming lines for outbound dialing. Click the Save button to save your changes.
