Sample Call Flow For a Dating Service  - explanation follows diagram

Sample dateline explained:

The following is an example of a possible system configuration with typical greetings. After you have set up your system as indicated you will be able to understand the complete flow of the BOX structure for the male selection process only, you will then add the female selection later on. The entire system works by joining s series of boxes together to form the call paths defined on the flowchart. These boxes will contain recorded greetings and instructions for all inbound callers to use for navigation.

There will be ACCESS BOXES which route inbound calls to specific  boxes based upon phone touch-tone selections. There will be CAPTURE BOXES to store a new caller's touch-tone input into the database. SEARCH BOXES will be used by callers who want to search your listings to find someone. There will be special system functions which are not real boxes, but operate just like them. These are called PHANTOMS. In this scenario we address the PHANTOM USER ACCESS BOX. Finally there will be MAILBOXES to accept messages from callers seeking to meet them.

We will begin in ACCESS BOX 10. This will be the initial box that callers will hear. You will need to record a greeting which should thank the caller for using your service and give them 3 choices which you will define in the lower windows of the box. 'Press 1 if you are a new caller and want to have a personal mailbox and listing in the system, press 2 if you want to browse the current database, or press 3 of you are an existing client and want to check your personal messages". ACCESS BOXES only route the caller to other boxes, they do not take messages, nor do they capture any data. Note the number 1 in the lower window of this box goes to ACCESS BOX 11, number 2 goes to ACCESS BOX 12, and number 3 goes to PHANTOM USER ACCESS to retrieve their messages.

When a caller presses the touch tone number 1 on their phone the program will send them to ACCESS BOX 11. This box should have a greeting recorded that says "Press 1 if you are male, press 2 if you are female, or hold a moment to return to the main menu". Again, as you are in an ACCESS BOX, the destination for digits 1 and 2 will be defined in the lower window of the box. The number 1 should go to CAPTURE BOX 20 (for males) and the number 2 should go to CAPTURE BOX 21 (for females).

When a new male caller enters the touchtone number 1, he will be sent to CAPTURE BOX 20. Next he will hear the survey intro which you will have recorded in CAPTURE BOX 20. Next he will hear the survey intro which you will have recorded in CAPTURE BOX 20 with the following script - "We will now ask you some questions about yourself. Your responses will be used to help locate the perfect match for you". Then you will record some questions. Let's record question number 1 as "If you are between the ages of 18-24 press 1,  25-35 press 2,    36-45 press 3,  46-50 press 4. Record Question number 2 as "Press 1 if you live on the north side, press 2 if you live on the south side, press 3 if you live on the east side, and press 4 if you live on the west side". Record Question number 3 as "Press 1 if you believe in love at first sight, or press 2 if you do not". Then the caller will hear the system asking him to "Please speak after the tone". He will speak a description of himself which is what other callers will hear to decide if they are interested. Nest, the software will create a new MAILBOX for him , and ask him to enter  a unique password. The caller will then be asked to record their  MAILBOX name (John Jones) and MAILBOX greeting ("Hi, thanks for selecting me! Please leave me a message at the tone".) The caller then hears your recorded survey ending, such as "Thank you for calling our system and becoming a member. Validation will take at least 24 hours so please call back then to begin your search for a compatible mate with Kis'n'Tel".

If a caller presses the number 2 from the initial ACCESS BOX 10: the program will route to ACCESS BOX 12.In this box you should record a greeting that says "Press 1 if you are looking for male, press 2 if you are looking for a female". In the lower window of this ACCESS BOX number 1 should go to SEARCH BOX 30 (for males) and number 2 can go to SEARCH BOX 31 (for females).

SEARCH BOX 30 should have a survey intro recorded that says "We will now ask you some questions to determine the type of person you are looking for". At the top of the SEARCH BOX there is a field to enter a CAPTURE BOX number. This should be CAPTURE BOX 20. We want the system to search according to input from that particular capture box. The questions in this box should mirror the questions in capture box 20. So, question number 1 should be recorded as "If you are looking for someone in the age group 18-24 press 1, 25-35 press 2, 36-45 press 3, 46-50 press 4:". Question number 2 should be recorded as "If you are looking for someone who lives on the northside of town press 1,the southside of town press 2, the eastside press, the westside press 4". Questions number 3 should be recorded as "If you believe in love at first sight, press 1, if not press 2". After the caller has answered these questions the system will search for those persons that entered those same numbers as responses to the CAPTURE BOX 20 questions.

The system will say "There are 3 matches", (after you have called into he CAPTURE BOX 20 3 times and created 3 sample MAILBOXES answering the CAPTURE BOX questions the same way you answer the SEARCH BOX questions). The software will then play the recorded descriptions for those MAILBOXES one at a time followed by several touchtone options. For example, the first is to press 1 to go to leave a message  in the owners mailbox or x to continue seeking more compatible matches.
