Part IV e: Education

Students, teachers, even parents can have their own Mailboxes. Different Phantom Directories can be used for each category. Directories can be searched by name - so you may not know a parent's or teacher's  mailbox number, but you would know their name.

Capture Boxes and Search Boxes can be utilized to allow callers (including the community at large) to search for upcoming events or general information. "If you are interested in courses in art, press 1."

Outbound Boxes can be used to call a list of numbers (parents, teachers, or any group) to notify them of an upcoming meeting or that a meeting has been rescheduled.

Question Boxes can be used to prepare students for tests - there is even scoring available.

Give each teacher a Group Box and add all the mailboxes of the students in that class. Then the teacher can easily record a message once and have it sent to all their students.

Homework assignments can be recorded in boxes that can be easily accessed by students and/or parents. No more forgetting part of the assignment - and no more "But Mom, I don't have any homework tonight". Mom can get that information herself.

Use the CalenDialer (appointment reminder) module to allow students to schedule their own reminders ("Don't forget the big Science test on Tuesday!" or the school administration can use it to remind students to register for classes before a certain date.

The IVR Module would allow for a list of subjects and grades to be read to mailbox owners who had entered their passwords. The IVR module makes use of database files that can be accessed through ODBC.

If you purchase the FaxTalker module, callers could request faxes of school calendars and course schedules.
