Computer System Compatibility
In order to run a VoiceStamp voicemail, email or fax processing system you will need to select a host computer. In general, most of the commercially available clones will work fine but there are exceptions.
Once in a great while we come across a computer that simply will not allow space (addressing or interrupts) for the voice hardware driver to operate. Often the only solution is to get another computer. These failures can generally be traced back to the design of the motherboard where all of the components and the CPU (i.e.Intel or equivalent processor chip) are installed.
The computer you want to run your VoiceVenture on, must have the following minimum requirements:
A 586 or faster computer running with Microsoft Windows NT Service pack 5 or Windows 2000 and the NTFS (nt file system) format. It is critical that you use the NTFS file format rather then the older DOS design.
The minimum computer hardware and software requirements are as follows:
586 processor (Pentium), 256 Megabytes of RAM, 20 gigabyte hard drive or larger, 3 1/2" floppy disk drive
CD ROM drive, Tape drive, zip drive, or read/writable cd drive (recommended for creating high density backups)
Internal card slots are ISA or PCI
