| The Daily News came up with a great
idea for making some extra money back in 1992. Los Angeles' second
largest newspaper installed a voice system and set up information
updates on a variety of topics. Callers select subjects with their
touchtone phones. For $1 a minute, callers can hear a daily update on
their soap opera, sports scores, the day's headlines or stock market
quotes. It's an enticing way to obtain information without hunting
through a paper, and has certainly proven profitable for the Daily News. |
